Let's Get Acquainted
I, Debbie Faulkner, was an only child, and I humorously say I was raised by a pack of Rat Terriers and Fox Terriers. They were my only playmates and followed me around my grandparent's Texas cattle ranch all day long. They taught me everything I know about dogs.
I've been involved in animal rescue for 40 years and started the Black Canyon Animal Animal Sanctuary in Crawford Colorado in 2009. The Sanctuary is located on 40 beautiful acres with a river running through it on the Western Slope of the Colorado Rocky Mountains.
The sanctuary has a 2600 sf animal shelter facility and provides temporary shelter for abandoned or abused dogs in need. BCAS also provides financial assistance with emergency vet bills for pet owners that qualify.
The main focus of the Black Canyon Animal Sanctuary is the Silver Whiskers Program where senior humans are matched with senior pets. The program pays all costs associated with pet ownership. If the client has an emergency health issue or can no longer care for the pet it is returned to the sanctuary.
